A box of 20 Bibles in the Chichewa language is about £80.
The pastors cover an area of some 125 miles and if they don't have a bike they walk this distance by foot regularly.A bicycle is about £40.
Operation Bibles and Bikes June 2010 – June 2011
This is an ongoing operation. The request and need for Bibles particularly is enormous. Can you imagine what it would be like not to have your copy of the Bible?
Without a Bible none of us have any idea as to what God is saying.
It is our lifeline and our handbook.
In Malawi, Mozambique and Sudan there are now some 650 pastors, many of whom still need Bibles. There are numerous church elders who need Bibles, and also believers in the congregations.
And the people are so grateful, so appreciative of your love for them.
It is exciting to come across a village chief who is also a believer, requesting a Bible. Village chiefs are still highly respected in their community so it is wonderful if he is able to dispense Godly wisdom.
Of those 650 pastors, 195 have recently come back under the Kalibu Ministry, after Pastor Navaya's visit this year to Sudan. - his first time back in Sudan since his emergency exit from the country with Michael Howard in 2005. ( You can read about their mission there in the book “To Save a Nation”)
Some account of this visit to Sudan was reported in the November 2010 Newsletter.
It is perhaps confusing that our year for this project runs approximately June to June! The reason is that each time Penny Shellswell returns from Malawi she is able to give us an update as to need and also provide us with some pictures of those who have received.

Should you wish to send a donation, please look to the left of this report where you will see the donation address and Gift Aid information - thank you so much on their behalf.

September 2009
Dear Friends
Having just returned from an amazing 6 weeks at Kalibu Academy in Malawi, I want to ask for your help please.
There were many opportunities for me to chat with pastors in their villages - but it was sad to find that there are still pastors who do not have a Bible.

While I made no promises to them I did say I would see what could be done- which is why we are asking for your help. It would be wonderful if we could really meet this need.

The Malawian people are very open to the gospel and outreach is an ongoing activity. New Churches are being started and so there is a continuing need for Bibles.

It would be wonderful if you were able to help.

If we meet the need for Bibles we will move on, with your agreement, to bikes.

God bless

Operation Bibles and Bikes
We are seeking to raise funds for the provision of Bibles and Bicycles for pastors, church elders and congregations in Malawi and Mozambique. The Lord has completely staggered us.
Donations have been coming in response to the appeal and a lady in Launceston held a Fund Raising Sale which raised more than her target by almost 50%.

The overall total to 29th November 2009 - including money we can claim back on Gift Aid - is almost £3,000

Isn't that absolutely wonderful?
Pastor Navaya, who oversees the pastors, commented on hearing the news:

'Praise Almighty God for this wonderful miracle'!

On behalf of the Pastors and people in Malawi and Mozambique, thank you all so much.
Pastor Roz has told us that this could all be spent on Bibles alone and yet there would still be a need, so please don't stop now. There is still the need for Bicycles and then the supply of Study Books and Sunday School Books.
What an encouragement to our brothers and sisters who are crying out for His Word.
Please continue to pray that our Wonderful Father would continue to raise up generous hearts so that we can bless these lovely people.
